Independent distribution and label service provider Ditto Music has a new music publishing arm in the works and the firm is looking for Global Head of Publishing to launch the new division. The winner will receive a series of career-launching prizes, including a £5k marketing budget, music video shoot, recording studio time at Ditto Music's London studio, a guaranteed live performance slot, a song premiere on a leading UK channel and a track feature with a major artist.
Per sources close to the matter, Ditto Music is creating an application named Blubox, which will store all the important information concerning each music as it is being recorded in the studio, including artist, songwriter, producer rights, copyrights, publishing, and mechanical splits among others.

Music industry veteran Lee Parsons, CEO and co-founder of Ditto Music — an independent distribution company with over a dozen offices worldwide that has worked with artists including Chance, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, and Sam Smith to release music to numerous digital stores like Spotify and iTunes — spoke with Rolling Stone about why the indie market is heating up, and what challenges lie ahead.
Pricing for Music distribution - So you can upload limited music for 19 dollars per year, but for the Indian music it's about 5-10 dollars a year, so if you make up to 50 songs and you have more than one artist it goes up to 50% of the price because then we become more of a label.

With the help of Ditto Music , it is now possible to start your very own record label. London-based Ditto says the app will enable multiple split royalty payments for the lifetime of a sound recording and allow it to accurately track plays of every piece of music registered on the system.
Last year, Ditto paid out more than $100 million to artists. Ditto Music claims it paid out a whopping $100 million to artists as royalties in 2019 and it plans to create a publishing arm that will function alongside the Bluebox solution. Interestingly, Ditto Music has stated categorically that its blockchain solution is different from other DL-based rights databases, as it already has a use case, which is to eliminate the data management issues plaguing the music industry.

Announced at the end of January by CEO Lee Parsons, the label services give independent artists extra help with their releases by offering priority access to pluggers, reviewers and Ditto's own In House promotional team on an as ad hoc basis. Although we are still totally committed to providing the best online distribution service on the market, the London office will give us a dedicated facility to focus on the new label services.
