Learning The Parable Of The Sower For Kids

A free four week children's Sunday school lesson series describing the four reactions people have after hearing the Word of God. But not knowing men's hearts, it is the preacher's business to preach the gospel to every creature—to throw a handful on the hardened heart yonder, and another handful on that overgrown heart, which is full of cares and riches and pleasures of the world.
10 He said, The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, ‘though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.' 11 This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.

Luke's Gospel does not use a boat for the delivery of the sermon, but still has Jesus presenting the parable to a large crowd gathered from 'every city' and follows the parable with a question on the purpose of parables and an explanation of the parable of the sower itself.
In Mark's Gospel and Matthew's Gospel , this parable, the explanation of the purpose of parables and the explanation of the parable itself form part of Jesus' third or " Parabolic The Parable of the Sower For Children " discourse, delivered from a boat on the Sea of Galilee In each narrative, Jesus used the boat as a means of being able to address the huge crowd gathered on the lake shore.

The person whose heart is like the good soil hears the good news about God and receives it. He bears fruit, more than what was planted. He who opens people's ears so that they hear the word and treasure Jesus above all else. The soil is your heart. Also, use this time to take the topic where the students want to go. Pray for the Holy Spirit to reveal to them what truths he wants them to learn from the story, and help them understand how this story can be applied to their lives.
It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”When he said this, he called out, Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.” 9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant. He tells a story we call the parable of the sower. Well the seed is like the Word of God and the soil is a person's heart.

A parable is a special story that Jesus used to teach the people about God and his kingdom. But if we open our hearts to Jesus, trust in Him to care for us, and accept His word as truth, we will be able to grow like beautiful flowers and do many things for Jesus.
13:10-13.) Unit 22 of The Gospel Project for Kids will examine several of Jesus' parables over six sessions. Make sure the kids understand that a sower would toss the seed across the ground. As you pray for the students ask God to help them to get rid of anything that keeps their heart from hearing and understanding God's Word.
